Audiophiles/Techs...

Sound folks,
I need some help. I have a Minidisc player (Sony, MZN707 Type R) that I use to record myself and some concerts. I have a need to put that material on my computer. How do I do that? The program "openMG" does not seem to be able to transfer something to the computer that was recorded with a microphone. I have DL'd SonicStage and several others but they all seem not able to transfer something that has not previsouly been on a computer. (Yes, I made sure the copyright tab on the MD was in an off position.)
When I do it the old school way: Take analog cables from MD headphone jack to computer mic input and record in realtime, there is a LOT of white noise, scratching, etc.

Can anyone help? I appreciate it. Thank you.

Tim

P.S. The cheaper, the better... I am honestly living hand to mouth. (AKA, I'm POOR!)
