That's a tough one Phil. Was just in Mexico with Phil Dwyer and the sound guy was using Kind of Blue to test the system. We both started playing along with everything (Phil nailing it much more than me). I realized that I can't play all of the solos on there yet, so that's on my list to clean up- Trane, Bill Evans, Wynton Kelly, all of them...want to be able to play them all perfectly because there are so many great melodies and SO many great 'language' tools in there.
Favorite solo to play along with ( need to get it back under my fingers again too) Freddie, Birdlike. Person I play along with the most- Pops. Phrasing, melodies, feel, simplicity, etc..
I play with many vocalists as well... |
