Trent,
it seems that the "allergy" was not the cause of your chop problem. From what you describe it was simply a case of geometry (and the quantity of practice) allowing/causing the irritation. You now have an obviously better geometrical setup that matches the teeth/lips/muscle build of your face. It really doesn't matter why, the beautiful thing is the emotional freedom that you have gained!
