| Re: The performance degree...myth or reality? Thinking more and more about this topic, it comes down to what music is and what purpose it serves in society. For months I was caught in a down-spiral, considering music to be superfluous and inconsequential, but now, after reading Aristotle and Adler, viewing di Vinci and Degas and listening with fresh ears to Mozart and Mahler, art has morphed from arduous to effortless and has once again begun to change my life.
