TMers,
Quite some time ago we had an interesting discussion on TM about the dearth of trumpet playing heard on television today, in contrast to what we used to find there 30 - 40 years ago. Food for thought.
On a related topic, many of us became turned on to the trumpet (and symphonic music, for that matter) when we first heard some of the classic film scores of Erich Korngold, Maurice Jarre, Bernard Hermann, and others. This tradition has continued, particularly through the music of John Williams and Howard Shore.
Please take a look/listen to the few clips below and then tell me about the symphonic film scores that have caught your ear (and why)?
Best,
EC
