I don't follow much of anything at TH, but at the end of the day, the bills have to get paid - even the government bills. Less income (from taxes) means less expenditure.

Preventing industry subsidies and tax breaks when going off shore may be a start in preserving American jobs. Another problem is the stock market paying higher dividends for putting people out of work and effectively reducing consumer spending. Sounds pretty STUPID to me. We could end up with a revolution on our hands. There is major need for economic overhaul of the economy. The markets are not sorting themselves out very well and the middle class is shrinking..................

It is happening in Germany too. Several public orchestras have been grouped together and can't get substitutes from outside the group. The subs only get travel money and the assurance that there is a maximum amount of services per month that they will be required to play.
