Whata,

I can't agree more. I was addicted to cartoons when I was a kid and many of them featured great trumpet playing.

This was the point made by Manny on the original thread here. Many of us were tremendously infuenced by being able to flip on the tube in the 50s and 60s and hear the trumpet being played really well. This, sadly, isn't the case today.

This is why I chose to discuss film music. Most of today's kids have heard wonderful trumpet playing in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, Saving Private Ryan, Apollo 13 (kudos to Tim Morrison for the last two), etc.
