| Re: Early influences? Oh, man, now you got me going! Two old (1960s) TV shows had solo trumpet fanfare openings. One was the original Hallmark Hall of Fame, and the other introduced the weekly series "The Defenders." Then there was the great Twilight Zone episode "A Passage for Trumpet," starring Jack Klugman as a boozing down-and-out jazzer who meets the angel Gabriel in a back alley of NY. And how 'bout Kirk Douglas in "Young Man with a Horn?" Somebody Stop Me!!! |
