The first movie soundtrack I ever bought was the Danny Elfman score to the original Tim Burton Batman movie. I listened to that thing over and over and over. When I found out that Elfman also wrote the Simpsons theme (this was back in high school for me) it was one of the first times I truly noticed a composer's "style". I thought about the Simpsons theme, "Duh, that DOES sound like Danny Elfman from Batman." Anyway, the trumpet playing on it was great. It was the LSO, but I'm not sure of the trumpet player.
Also, here's another vote for Star Wars (duh). :) |
