Some food for thought...

Airy sound comes from "open" chops and / or too much air passing through the lips. Stiff lips, lips pinned open, lips being blown open can cause this.

If you are getting an airy sound on a smaller mouthpiece, you may want to analyze how much pressure you're using, how much air your blowing and how big or small your appeture is.

Bottom line is that you can adjust to anything, you just have to know what and how to adapt.
