Robin alias "Rowuk" is not a big fan of Thein. But there are many different options of the trumpet models that even he could find one which he likes
The many variations (leadpipes, tuning slides, bells, etc) could also be a problem. If you had the chance to visit their shop in Bremen, I am sure that you would find your dreamhorn. But it´s not possible to ship all of this stuff to the US. But the Thein brothers have more than 30 years of experience in trumpets, so if you tell them what you are looking for, they will probably send you enough parts.
All I can say is give them a call or e-mail and they (probably Max) will give you a reply of what is possible.

PS: Sorry for my English. And I am not paid or get any discount by Thein (nobody gets any discount there, except Matthias Höfs ) because of my "advertisement" here. I am just a VERY satisfied consumer never who never regretted the investment |
I am not a "fan" of the Thein brothers, but that doesn't make their horns "undesirable". They have been traditionally the most expensive German horns that you can buy. As I have said in other posts, money is NEVER the issue.
Many players whose opinion that I respect very much enjoy the Höfs model (including Matthias Höfs himself). Like any other horn, you need to get it on your face before forming an opinion. I have only played one of the Höfs models a couple of years ago at the Frankfurt music fair. It played well enough, but that is not an intimate situation where you can really get to know the horn. I have played several of their rotary horns and never had one that I refused to give back to the owner........ Actually Marco doesn't live too far away from me, maybe we should just get together and compare notes...........
