When he was an active teacher, Mr. Vacchiano was THE teacher. He got the best students, and helped those students reach their potential. It seems like the same thing is now happening at Northwestern. I doubt that Mr. Vacchiano's success will ever be replicated, for many of the same reasons that the Canadians, Celtics, UCLA Bruins and (especially!) the Yankees will never dominate in the same way they once did.
