Lanolin here too. Don't know if it's the best, but it's the only thing I've used. When I came back to the horn and bought an old sweet K-Modified, I asked the seller if lanolin is still okay. He was swell. Didn't make me feel stupid for being away for it for so long. Said it's still used and does just fine.
