I do not like vasoline because it is not thick enough for the tuning slide and 2nd valve slide and it is not viscous enough to keep the slided covered. Metal to metal contact means WEAR!
Anhydrous Lanolin for me too, plus a bit of Al Cass FAST oil for the 1st and 3rd slides. This mix works equally well for my Getzens, Boosey and Hawkes, and Weril instruments. One of the B&H tuning slides leaks a little water at times - this mix solves that drama with no expensive repairs required (the horn is 53 years old).
