| Re: My new Trumpet? Find a good 37 or 43 Bach with a trigger (would not get hung up on a trigger) and forget about it till you are aware of exactly what you want out of a trumpet. If you like a little more open feel get LR180S horns with reverse leadpipe and lightweight body, mostly playing preference. There are some really great trumpets to choose from. As for one all around trumpet a good Bach is always a solid choice. If you settle on a genre or two you may add a horn to color more that direction.
Sure Yamaha, Real Benge, Schilke, and others are all solid choices, but they seem to all revolve around the Bach universe for mainstream stuff. I am not saying it is the holy grail of trumpets just a very solid choice which can be used in almost any genre successfully.
Like previously mentioned forget about how many pieces they make the bell out of and just get a good horn.
