It was an amazing event. Tootie and Jimmy, Dr. Billy Taylor, Dr. Larry Ridley, Cedar Walton and Wes Anderson were all in attendance. It was a blast working with the young trumpet players of the NCCU band.

That's great news O Wise One.
I see it took a 'Warm Daddy' from Brooklyn and some Heath's to restore life into America's only original art form down yonder.
Since you raised Jimmy's name,on April 11,2008 I was invited to the local Presbyterian
Church to listen to a concert "Psalms Without Words" featuring the Presbybop Quartet of Clarks Summit PA.
It was an outstanding evening !
After the gig,I had a conversation with the bands composer and pianist,Pastor Bill Carter
about his interest in Jazz and so forth and he implored me to visit his web site
(
Bill Carter and the Presbybop Quartet - Jazz to the glory of God) for some of his influences...see if you recognize THE VOICE OF THE SAXAPHONE (composer) in the penultimate picture.
Long Live Jazz !
