Re: Your Personal Repertoire?

Ed,

Great topic! I take my choice of repertoire very seriously and I go through a lot before I decide to take on a piece. Here are a couple I have now performed a few times (some memorized) and really love playing:

Antheil-Sonata for Trumpet

Kagel-Morceau de Concours

Makiko Nishikaze-Northern Stars

Sofia Gubaidualina-Song Without Words

There is a piece that I'm working on now that HAS to go on this list when I'm done preparing it and have it well under my belt. It's a wonderful piece by the Austrian composer Olga Neuwirth entitled Laki. It still needs quite a bit of work but it's one that I feel like I can really make my own. I've performed Haydn several times now from memory but as it's played so well by so many people I hardly feel like I can call it mine.
