Adagio for Strings is a beautiful piece. The orchestral arrangement has a much different texture than the original string quartet arrangement. I have heard some nice (clarinet choir) and awful (bassoon quartet!) arrangements. For brass quintet it sure would be a good teaching tool for legato, extended phrases and slow tempos. Have fun! |
