A different bach can play completely differently. A friend played mine then his back to back right after I got mine and mine was a lot brighter. Same model, less than 5 years apart.
Valve oil can also make a huge difference (there is a large thread on this somewhere), I switch back to Al Cass after using tech oil and my valves started moving sooo much faster
