| Re: Mouthpiece position in the horn I used to use a Laskey mpc that had the throat bored out by hand. You could see where the silver was gone and you could see that it was not quite symmetrical. I fooled around with trying to find it's "sweet spot," but I always felt like my own inconsistancy was way worse than the mouthpiece's. I put it in the same way for a long time and still had good days and bad days. Then I stopped caring about it's position and still had good and bad days.
I think that some mouthpieces probably do play better in a particular position, but I've never felt like I could find it.
