Interesting topic. There are few pieces I will claim to "own," simply because, when I say I own it...someone will play the crap out of it and make me think...maybe I need to learn that over again.

Turrin's Someone to Watch over Me, however, is one that I feel I own. Sure, it's one simple...i mean, ridiculously simple piece, by technique's standards...but in the musical sense...this song, to me, will always be a dream to play, simply because with it, I have been able to draw visible emotion from audience members-that to me means a lot.

I hope to eventually "own" Ewazen's Sonata also. Tons of fun, that piece. Guess we'll see what happens in January, when graduate school starts, to see what I'll be working on mostly...
