I scored a rare find, subsequent to the acquisition of the horns ... a set of those valve-springs (N.O.S.). Also, I have an music magazine ad, describing the valves and their features.
Interestingly, the cases for the horns are (in my opinion) simply gorgeous. Faux alligator.
Subjectively, the horns play (and sound) "solid". Hard to qualify the tonal-aspect (as LOU has mentioned). They do not easily produce "coloration" (rich, harmonic overtones). Excellent low-register, and wide partials.
