My Bach Strad is a great all around horn, after many many years. One thing I have done is remove the nut on the third valve slide, and replaced it with a plastic/nylon wire nut. Helped by eliminating metal on metal noise, since nut had tendency to vibrate and not stick. Like the funky look of the wire nut, too, and it works without a peep of noise. Doens't adjust stop length on the screw, but then my ear is supposed to do that, eh?--HH
