The Soloffs

I have known Laura Soloff for quite a while, but I had never heard her play.
This afternoon at her recital, she's a violinist, I heard Laura AND Lew play together. They were marvelous!
Lew came up after she had played the formal part of the concert. The encore was a work that employed improvised sections. There was a bassist, who's name I can't recall, who played with a virtuoso flair with Laura and Lew.
The concert was part of Laura's graduation requirements. Laura's mom, a fantastic harp player, was also on the concert.
What did Sly Stone sing? "It's a Family Affair!"
