Jazz man’s condition improves
Trumpeter Clark Terry, who took ill last week, was upgraded Friday to fair condition, but his family said he’s feeling better and may be going home soon.
The 87-year-old jazz legend was moved out of the University of Kansas Hospital’s cardiac intensive-care unit and into a regular room, said his wife, Gwen Terry.
He even had fun with his doctors Friday morning, demonstrating how a wind musician “circular breathes” — that is, plays a note nonstop while breathing in and out.
“God couldn’t have picked a better place for Clark to be,” his wife said.
