There is a photo of and Elkhart Band Instrument Flugle, ser. 4937 on Horn-u-copia Elkhart instruments thread, has the distinctive brace I have seen on the trumpets. No other info there that I saw.

Under the Coueson thread "history" a paragraph " During the 1930's they began catering to marching brass bands, and gradually became almost the only supplier of marching brass instruments in France. They made many horns which were imported into the United States, including many that were sold under the name of music stores and other private labels." The rest of the thread highlights there business attempts and problems, including a fire in 1969 when the archive records were destroyed. In 1999 the French Drum maker P.G.M. bought the company . They are making 3 Flugel models in a small plant with 25 workers hand made by skilled craftsmen. Other mandrels for making C, Bb and Picc trumpet had been stolen.
