Fellow TM member RGale and are pleased to announce the release of the Seattle Trumpet Consort's new CD, After Baroque: Music for the Natural Trumpet.
While the majority of the music written for natural trumpet is from the time of J.S. Bach, we have discovered a body of repertoire written after the baroque, that until now, has remained largely unexplored. While striving to remain historically responsible, our consort is also pushing the boundaries of the natural trumpet repertoire and has commissioned a new work from Boston area composer Marti Epstein. We are excited to announce our new recording of this inspired music, including works by Wagner, W.A. Mozart, C.P.E. Bach, Dvorák, and Britten.
It's been a lot of work to put together this CD, but we think you'll be pleased with the result. It's not your typical baroque trumpet CD, and we managed to find a variety of pieces to make it an interesting listen. It should also be a good reference for those looking for new repertoire for trumpet ensembles.
If you are a baroque trumpet enthusiast, head over to
The Baroque Trumpet Shop and pick up the CD while you check out the great instruments and other items. You can also buy online directly through our record label
Origin Classical.
We welcome all comments from those who have heard the CD, and hope you enjoy it!
