For authenticity, check out excelsiorcornetband.com. This is our group and our instruments. We try probably a little too hard to be true to the era. I get ribbed at times because my 1870 B flat SARV cornet has a spit valve on it! If you want to be authentic, why not try to be a turn of the 20th century town band? Could be fun! Lots of nostalgia there.
FARBY means Far Be It For Me To Tell You That You Are Out Of Character! We get razzed every now and then. I went out and bought a Civil War era pocket watch just to fit in.
