| Re: Case Alternatives? Keeping the horn in its original case is safer than leaving it laying around. I had a trumpet teacher that said the horn did not dry out as fast when it was kept in the case between gigs. That made it easier to play. I know that my horns that are "bone dry" from not having been played for a while (my Bach 229H C for instance, it gets used only 2 or 3 times a year) are not as easy to play as when they are moist inside.
