Re: The Wedge

My experience with Warbuton has been more than I expected! First I must say that I have very thin lips. Unless I make the effort to "unfurl" my lips they are almost none existent. I have played on, (over a 44 year period) alot of different mouthpieces. From Bach 1 (no letter) to 101/2C. From Parduba to Meridian. Schilke then back to Bach, to Monette, Jet Tone, and just about everything in between! After a long period of searching the internet, hours of reading descriptions of how this all works. I came upon the Warburton site and again read about their system. I had long discussions with other players and their experience with mouthpieces, etc. I decided to try a couple of these. I landed on a WCC top with a 4 backbore, and have been here, very happily for over 2 years. This piece is easily overblown. No distortion, hooked up to the B1L just very edgey, Loud!
I find I need to "whisper" into the horn. This has really helped to increase endruance. I can end the perfomance with high note chops intact.
Satisfied, although my M/P safari may never end. My curiousity about greener grass on the other side of the hill never ends! The Wedge looks very interesting!
