| Re: Contest Entries Here is mine, as promised. Enjoy
I love the stock Bach Stradivarius that I own, but I would like to do a few things to it that I think would make it play a little better and look a lot nicer. The Bach Strad I own is a standard horn, silver plated, 37 bell and the standard 25 leadpipe. To improve my baby, I would first take off the bell and replace it with a gold brass 37 bell, because I like the sound of gold brass better. Next, I would replace my stock 25 leadpipe with a new #7 leadpipe to darken the horn’s sound a bit. I would also get a fully rounded Bach tuning slide to go with the new #7 leadpipe. With that done, I would put some heavy valve caps on the horn to improve the slotting and darken the tone even more. Finally, I’d put Conn Vintage One finger rings on the horn, because I like the look of all three finger rings being rings instead of Bach’s thumb hook and the pinky finger rest up near the valves. With all that done, I would gold plate my beauty and make her look beautiful. I can see my beautiful new baby now! What a work of art!
