Re: Contest Entries

Here is my entry:

My dream trumpet would something that would have the power to carry a big band or orchestra and still have the finesse, agility, and control to play any type of music the imagination can create. So here is what I think would be this Ferrari of trumpets using Conn-Selmer parts would be.

Bell: Standard weight Bach 72 bell with a French Bead for big full tone with broadness and projection

Leadpipe: Bach #6 for control (be careful not to over blow, play with efficiency)

Body/valves: a lightweight Medium Large bore Conn Vintage One valve block with the variable weight bottom caps.

Tuning Slides: Two would be included. A single radius braceless Sterling silver slide and bronze semi-round braced slide. Both would be the dual bore Vindabona type.

Trim items: 1st and 3rd valve slide rings, leadpipe pinky hook.

The entire thing would be finished in polished Gold plating for years of durability and beauty. The finger buttons would have Tigers Eye inlays.

It would all come in a beautiful leather case with room for various mouthpieces, both tuning slides, and other small accessories. This is what I think could be my dream trumpet!
