I have travelled to the States often in the past and am always interested to see, in just the short 15 hours it takes to get to the west coast from Australia, how quickly my accent develops. I leave home without one and by the time I reach SFO or LAX there it is. It happens everytime, and there is always some youngster who comments on how good my English is. Astounding.
