Jonster,
the reality is there are more players with Monette mouthpieces than with Monette horns. I only own one Monette horn, but use the mouthpieces in all the rest except for the nat.

The reason to buy the mouthpiece is because it works for you. Play before you pay.

After trying out some Monette clones, I can say that they are not close in blow or sound to the original. They do not share the pitch center advantage that the original has either.
