Hello group,
I'm here to learn and I have a long way to go. I'm 55, live in a suburb of Rochester, NY, and just rented a trumpet yesterday. I play keyboard/piano/organ and accordion, a little guitar, and a little mando. Picked up the keyboards again at 50, after playing from 7 to 25. Then began to dabble in the rest.
I played trumpet and french horn in band during junior and senior high school. I recently decided that I need to play with other folks in a band setting - to motivate me to practice. I am fortunate enough to be in Rochester with the Eastman School of Music New Horizon's (mature
amateur) bands and orchestra. I plan on starting the band in September, but need to get up to speed over the summer.
I was able to make a sound that sort of sounded like a trumpet last night - so I will figure out the forum to find some next steps. I don't remember very much about the trumpet, but look forward to learning!
