Re: 1956 olds mendez long cornet

If anyone is interested, its been a couple of weeks since the Mendez cornet arrived and I can't put this thing down!I love the Mendez #1 mouthpiece that came with it.It has sort of a wide rim and is very comfortable.I"ve been working on the arbans theme and variations including the carnival of Venice with it everyday for the past two weeks.I went from playing an hour a day to 90 minutes at the very least because its just so much fun to play.I played a flugle horn in the past and because I only play an hour or so each day,It was really hurting my trumpet playing and had to stop. Not so with the cornet,I feel it enhances my trumpet playing.I always thought that newer meant better, more precise due to the technology, but I certaintly do not think that way now.Cheers Don
