| Re: Conn 6B question I have been trying to figure out for some time a definitive answer to the original question about the real difference between the Connstellation and the 6B Victor; aside from the obvious first valve trigger. I had a friend back in school that played beautifully on a nickel plated connstellation. I played that horn and experienced it's fine quality. I couldn't understand why there were 25 Bachs in my school band with so many other choices available? Sheep I guess.. Anyway, a year ago or so I went looking for a suitable horn to play in a community band. When I came across a very clean silver Victor I snatched it up. I am convinced it is the best horn I could have bought for the price. It has the look, the feel, and the sound of my old friend's connstellation that I was so impressed with. I have yet to do a side by side comparison but I have decided for myself that it is virtually the same horn. Are there any conn enthusiasts out there who actually have done a side by side of these two horns? |
