Smile Re: What is your main horn?

My Main Horn right now is a 1947 S1 H.N. White King Super-20. This first S1 model make,of the the Super-20 came with a one piece bell, has a micro tuner on the main slide and a built in and removable third slide throw. The third slide and rest of slides can be pulled to certain made marks, then can be tuned by the main micro tuner slide,to key of A. Can be played in key of Bb flat and key of A. It also has inner box springs with inner heavy single brass guides. This 61 year old horn shows no rot or dents or dings or ever having a broken brace etc. I do not know what metals King made their valves out of back then, but the valves have a mirror shine. Case still clean and in great shape, must have been a one owner, who took real good care of it. To me it has a great sound in all registers. Would like to hear a Pro blow it and a King Legend, to see how it would hold up in a sound comparison. It is a med.bore, and a little on the heavy side with real nice solid bracing. These tuning features are real nice, to me work much better than these new third slide throws and that first valve saddle hook. All Company's of Pro Horn model makes, should have kept these tuning features. Another was that third slide tuning device found on the Olds Recording and Olds Mendez trumpets etc. Waiting to recieve a well kept and chem cleaned etc. Kanstul Besson International Trumpet. Will share how it plays in a few days or so. Until
