Silver plate wear on first, second valve case, first and third valve slides. Brace nearest to bell flare appears to not be original. Valves have very recent felt replacement (replaced with synthetics)

:play: This is a black nickel plated 789RL Big Bell Cannonball horn. It definitely lives up to it's name with a bell that is bigger than most trumpets. It has a 0.459 bore and a reverse leadpipe. This has been my main horn for about 5 years now and it's hard to give it up, but money is tight so I want someone else to have the chance to enjoy this horn the way I have. The valves are blazing fast. The 1st and 3rd tuning slides are vented for fast tuning. The leadpipe has been replaced with a silver cannonball leadpipe due to damage to the original, and due to this there are some soldering marks that are pictured. There is some wear on the lacquer on the bottom of the third valve and a very small dent near the pipe entering the third valve. At the beginning of the bell there is some lacquer missing as well. The horn plays beautifully. Included with the horn is the original case, 3c mouthpiece (email me if you would like to spend an extra $45 for a satin gold finish dennis wick 3c) Please email me if you are interested. I can give you high quality pictures of any part on the horn. I am asking for $1200 OBO. The email address is evanbjohnson@gmail.com

New Selmer 80J Chorus in silverplate. I loaned money to a friend, and he offered the Selmer as collateral. He's unable to repay and agreed we'd sell the horn. It's new - less than 2 hours of play time on it.

The first valve saddle was replaced by a ring, and a slide stop was added on the first slide. The work was impeccable.

I had one of those hours today on the horn, and it's real player. Nice tone and those famous Selmer valves. I just have too many Bb horns to keep this one, or the 72 Vindabona I also have here in the TM Classifieds. They gotta go.

New crazy price on an 80J Chorus in silver is about $3400. Buy this one for a song and I'll pay Priority Mail insured to the contiguous 48. Includes the Selmer/Bam case in new condition also.

High Res pix are available. If you don't like the price, make me an offer we both can live with so I can get my money back.

For sale is my gorgeous mid-30's vintage King. This one is quite special, original condition but with a rimless bell offering wonderful projection. Some wear on the silver (about 70% remains) but what's left has a warm, burnished look. The engraving alone is ready for the display case, and valves are smooth, tight and virtually blemish free. I had the solders redone by Robb Stewart and any dents removed. Barely a ding or two remain, almost unperceptable. Compression is good and the slides are untarnished: bright and brassy.

The sound: simply amazing. The horn vibrates when you play, in a good way! Perfect for solo jazz or quintet. The .445 bore is very accomodating yet offers great endurance. Includes homemade case and original HN White 34 mouthpiece to match (King horns prefers the orig. White mouthpieces due to its unique receiver). Pics on request.310.553.4001
