3xp vs 738

Gentlemen( and ladies of course)
I am an old head with 15 yrs exp that was at a very high level 30 years ago. I'm coming back for my own enjoyment and have a couple of nice horns that have been offered to me at reasonable numbers (400 for either). Having been a Bach Strad player all those years, I am only familiar with what I read about Benge and yamaha. Although I see good things about each of these. Any input appreciated.

on the Benge you would have to know the serial # to guess at how good it is. the Yamaha is a good horn, both horns will be decidely different then what you are used to - - play first before you buy - - if possible take a tuner and a friend to listen in front of the horn. Dave

$400 if they are in reasonable shape is a VERY fair price.
What music are you going to play? What mouthpiece will you use?

At this age, probably that 1.5-2 oc Botti style slop. Depends on where the lip and lungs take me.
