An article about my experience on the MF band...

I recently wrote an article for another forum about my experiences on the Maynard Ferguson band This I did in answer to a request at that forum.

The substance of this article was on a now defunct website and on an old blog that I have since removed. However, I added a bit that wasn't there before.

Here's the link...

I hope you all enjoy it.

Peace.

Nick, Thanks so much for sharing! What a great story, I felt like I was there. Steve Weist did a clinic for us a few years ago, it figures that you two are related. Did you ever run into Mike Plog? He's a former student and a good friend of Steve's.
I'm really looking forward to planning a clinic with you this year, I'll be in touch for details soon.

Thanks for all of the kind words...

Thanks for all of the kind words. I really hope the second article draws such an interest when it comes out. I personally it much more to offer younger musicians from the point of view of actually working and getting work int eh trenches, so to speak.

Peace, all.

NickD,

Great article. Thanks for sharing those experiences. I was in high school in the 70's and it brought it all back. Long bus trips with HS marching band... hearing McArthur Park, Hey Jude etc being played on portable tape players...

What a great experience for you to reflect on.

Thanks again.
