Band Situation

I'm currently in a situation where the embouchure that I pay with is not correct, and I want to change it, but I have to (and want to) stay in the band for its next few concerts in a few months. I'm planning on play with my embouchure for the next few months, then changing it later. Comments or suggestions?

Re: Band Situation

Like everyone else says on this site. Find yourself a private teacher and maybe some other qualified trumpet players and let them see you play. There is no such thing as a correct embrochue only a good one.

Also if you dont practice an hour or more a day if you did change your embrochue you would probally be working really hard by practicing to get your chops back when you could have just practiced that hard in the first place.

Bottom lip curled in

What's the difference between mouthpiece sizes? ( 1 2 3 ... Last Page)

In all of the threads above you receive well wishes and advice that your embochure decision should NOT be made over the internet and that you should get a teacher to help you. All the threads have different titles but you're essentially asking the same questions over and over...

Just get some plastic surgery and the problem will solve itself. Steroids might work too. Good luck!

I would like someone to tell me about that embouchure as well. You say it can be found at Sam Ash . . .?

Whose embouchure do you plan to use? I'm willing to rent you mine for 1 week at $250. I need it back before my next gig.

Re: Band Situation

As a fellow trumpeter still in school pressured to do flips and tricks for my own band, I'm going to agree with the above posters in that you NEED to get yourself a good trumpet teacher. I went through some major lower lip problems last year to the point where I was seriously doubting any future in trumpet, got in contact with the most experienced local trumpet teacher at the beginning of September and I'm already back, playing better than I ever have before. So do yourself a favor and talk to a teacher - and a very experienced one, at that.
