Me and a few friends from College (Aged 16-18) have recently started a Brass Quintet, well we started in October.
Does anyone have any tips for newly forming quintets like where to play? How to get jobs?
Anyone have any tales of where they used to perform? :)
We're all great musicians playing solo (all around Grade 8 standard), but there is still some gelling to do as an ensemble but that's getting better!

Re: Brass Quintets
one rule our quintet had after one wedding job- don't do weddings. Play a few church freebies to get your foot in the door also play some freebies for retirement homes the residents love and there is always someone around to listen and if you do a decent job the offers will for paying jobs will start coming in. Also play things people like and know, if you want to play for money you have to give them what they want not what you like.
