Charlier Etudes cross-references

Hi folks,

I learned from someone on the TH that newer editions of Charlier's 36 Trancendental Etudes do not include the famous "footnotes" where Charlier recommends supplemental/preparatory etudes for his own.

I went through and typed out what's in the older edition of Charlier, so if you have a newer book, you might find this helpful with regard to "what else?" to practice. I don't know why Leduc would have omitted this information, but here it is if you need it.

The etudes Charlier refers students to for supplemental/preparatory studies are:

G. Balay: 15 Etudes
Chavanne: Etudes Characteristiques
Laurent: Etude Pratiques
A. Petit: Grand Etudes
Maxime-Alphonse: Etude Nouvelles, bk. 2

Google "Charlier Translation" and the first one returned should be a link to the translation that was provided in the ITG journal a while back.

May I inquire as to where you bought your Charlier book from? I did need it for an audition I was considering. If this post broke someones train of thought please excuse my stupidity.

Thanks, Andrew.
