Well I have not broiled to death here in Australia. I have been playing my long tones, Rubank, and my Music Minus One big band book. Fun! I just ordered the Claude Gordon elementary book too. I have read the intro material to Arban but I'm not ready yet. I got that Arban companion book too.
Oh and I'm bidding on a cheap ugly old cornet on eBay.

If you can get an audience to drink enough you'll need far less skills to keep them happy. You can sort of tell when you switch instruments say a trumpet for a clarinet and visa-versa and the audience is applauding like crazy and you don't know one end of the clarinet from the other.
