![]() | Cruise Gigs Hey Everybody, I know that there's some cats on here who have done the whole cruise ship thing, and I was thinking about sending in a tape to Carnival Cruise Lines. Has anyone worked for them specifically, or would anyone recommend another line? Also...What kind of stuff should I put on the CD? I have stuff of me playing with the Big Band I play in at UNM, and I have clips from the salsa band I play in, what else should I add? Thanks, |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I worked for Carnival for a while, it is fun for a short time, then it gets old living in a tiny room with a room mate and no window. I played in some smokin' bands out there and I played in some that were absolutely terrible. Booze will help you to put up with the terrible bands and it is cheap in the crew bar. If you're going to play lead you'll need G's, and if you're going to play the jazz chair you'd better be able to solo. For the demo CD big band stuff should be fine I think. If you have yourself playing any TOP/EWF type stuff we played a lot of that out there. Here's Jonathan Crespo's email, they are always looking for people. I never worked for him, I've been out a while. jcrespo@carnival.com Good luck.
