    downward playing

Does anyone else kind of slightly point their hord down when they play?
Does it affect anything? Do any professianals hold their horns like this?
I have a slight over bite so I hold is about 10 or 15 degrees below just a straight 90 degree angle.

    Yee HAW!
Bell position is, in most folks, largely a function of dental structure. Welcome to the majority.

Folks with the bell pointing down are called 'downstream' players and are the majority. Then, there are a handful of us that are 'upstream' players with the bell going higher and higher....

The only important thing is that you minimize the pressure that you play with. if you have an overbite, you need to point the horn down some to limit pressure on the upper lip.

    Just depends....

I agree with most of what has been said; however you conductor will have something to say about it as well.

Mine is always barking at me to point mine down more.

See; I'm 6'4" and the tallest guy in my section. So it's a real chore for me to keep my bell at the same height that our 5'9" lead player does.

So this is a factor too..
