19/30s exercise explained - View topic: Trumpet Herald forum
Thank you for this link! I've read this technique, and Bill Adam's ideologies and exercises on his way to practice and blow the horn.

However, in reading his exercises, I only see one part devoted to soft playing, everything else is mf-f.

How can a trumpet player play soft using his technique? Bill says to "accelerate the air through the horn," which in my opinion, makes the sound loud.

When I play soft, I reduce my airflow and maybe, inadvertently close my throat. However, Bill says to keep an open throat whenever you play.

Is it possible to play soft and with an open throat?
