  | Ever play the repeats the same way? As you know Carnival of Venice (one of my favourite pieces) has lots of repeated phrases. Are you supposed to play the repeats differently from the first time you've played it? If the answer is no, that makes my life easier. If the answer is yes, is this what you would call nuance? How would you go on about achieving that? Can you hear this in the recordings of great players like Wynton, Nakariakov, et al? |
