I've been out of practice now for 12 years. I have a 10-year-old daughter who is picking up piano and has expressed some interest in the trumpet. What a great excuse for a comeback.
I achieved a rather impressive level of mediocrity during my high-school trumpet career, but also developed a number of rather abominable habits. I'm interested in forgetting about that debacle and starting over. I have a few of "Pops" McLaughlin's books lying around from a previously aborted comeback. I have started looking at those. Currently I'm working on some lip excercises and I'll eventually work up to buzzing and breathing again. Still no courage to pick up the horn, though.
It's nice to see a thriving community of trumpet enthusiasts.
